Sand Dunes at Death Valley (1)
Sand dunes at sunrise
Park your car along the road and walk about half a mile
on the north or west side of the road. You can walk anywhere
on the dunes. Sand will get into your shoes but won't hurt.
I found that it was not very easy to slide as the dunes were
quite damp.
If you are using a tripod, cover the bottom of the legs with a
plastic bag, or the sand will get into the screws and knobs.
Sunrise and senset are spectacular from the sand dunes. A walk
under full moon is also quite nice. You almost do not need a
flash light on the dunes under full moon. You will need one
on your way to the dunes from the road though.
