Salt Creek - Death Valley
Salt Creek - November 2004
It is a surprise for most visitors. Salt Creek does not dry out even
in the harshest summers.
A 1.2 mile dirt road takes you to the parking lot and a quarter-mile
long boardwalk closely follows the creek upstream.
Here you can actually see some birds. Life in Death Valley got
concentrated around the permanent water sources as the valley
became dry.
Weather at Death Valley is pleasant during November, but
unfortunately, it is not the breeding season for pupfish.
Pickleweed and salt grass cover the sides of the creek.
