Rainbow Falls, Stehekin, WA
After a quick bicycle ride - about 3miles from the dock

Bicycles are best way to visit around Stehekin (Rainbow falls, the bakery, Stehekin school and a number of other beautiful place upstream the Stehekin river). Bike rentals are available just outside the lodge and at about a hundred yards from the lodge. A shuttle bus runs a few times daily between the village and the "end of road" upstream the Stehekin river. A trail continues upstream all the way to state highway-2. There is a number of campgrounds on this trail. The ranger at the visitor center recommended a number of beautiful daytrips and backpacking trips in the North Cascades. I plan to visit Stehekin again a couple of times.
