    It is quite a hike to go to the top of every dune. Go on a leisurely pace. It won't take long to reach the top of the taller ones.

    There is someone walking in the middle of this little salt flat (dry pond) in the middle of the sand dunes.

    If you are lucky and if you are there at the dunes early in the morning, you might be able to find bug tracks on the sand.

  6. Mosaic Canyon - Death Valley - Mosaic Canyon - inner canyon
    A road from Stovepipe Wells village climbs up an alluvial fan to the mouth of the Mosaic Canyon on the Tucki mountains. This road, like many other dirt roads in Death Valley, can be slippery and drive slow. It is about 2.5 miles long. A narrow and winding trail takes you into the canyon. In some places you will have to use your hands to climb up. Ranger-led walks are very popular at this place. I saw a crowd of about 75 people following a ranger.

  7. Mosaic Canyon - Death Valley - Mosaic Canyon - inner canyon
    Inside the mosaic canyon. Beyond this point, the trail becomes very narrow and winding. You will have to scramble. Be wary of flash floods.
