San Jacinto State Park near Palm Springs, California
Take the aerial tramway from Palm Springs to San Jacinto State
Park on top of the San Jacinto mountain. Within a few minutes,
you go from a scorching desert to chilly mountain top cooler by
about 40 degrees. The park has a lot to offer for dayhikers
as well as backpackers.
